Qualifying participants from South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Qualification for the World Cup 2026 in South America (CONMEBOL Football Confederation) will take place from September 2023 to 2025. The first round is scheduled to take place on September 6. 10 countries will participate in the qualifying tournament, which will compete in one group. The double round-robin format: each country plays once at home and once away against each of the nine other countries. As a result, the total number of matches is 90.
In total, teams from South America receive 6 direct tickets to the FIFA World Cup. The national team, which will take the 7th place according to the results of the tournament, will be able to get another ticket through the intercontinental play-off matches.
