All participants of the World Cup 2026

48 national teams will participate in the 2026 World Cup. Three teams received guaranteed direct tickets as the host countries of the tournament: the USA, Mexico and Canada. The remaining 45 teams are advancing through regional qualification and the intercontinental playoffs. Distribution of vouchers by zones: 

• AFC Minimum 8, maximum 9 countries (possible +1 through intercontinental playoffs) 
• CONCACAF Minimum 6, maximum 8 countries (possible + 2 through intercontinental playoffs) The host countries USA, Canada and Mexico have already qualified automatically.
•  CONMEBOL Minimum 6, maximum 7 countries (possible +1 through intercontinental playoffs) 
• OFC Minimum 1, maximum 2 countries (possible + 1 through intercontinental playoffs) 
• CAF Minimum 9, maximum 10 countries (possible + 1 through intercontinental playoffs) 
• UEFA 16 countries
